The RAMAN CARS/SRS technology...

The new microscope, installed and now fully operational, makes it possible to highlight chemical compounds within thick, unstained, living biological samples and thus to draw up high-resolution chemical mappings within the sample.

Particularly effective at revealing lipids and discriminating between compounds on the basis of their carbon chains, this new instrument will also be capable of localising rare chemical elements. Equipped with several detectors, it is ultimately able to couple CARS or SRS acquisitions with «traditional» fluorescence, multi-photon or second-harmonic acquisitions in order to superimpose the various data sources and thus characterise the sample in great detail.

To facilitate the implementation of this new technology, an engineer will join the team in April 2022.
