Scanning Electron Microscopy

High-resolution observation and sample analysis

The scanning electron microscope makes it possible to visualise the surface of various samples and to observe details on a nanometre scale. Furthermore, pressure control within the microscope chamber and the cryo-preparation module offer the possibility of examining dry, hydrated or frozen samples. Among the many possibilities offered by this resource, cryo-fracture enables the interior of samples to be observed and X-ray analysis to qualify and quantify the atomic species present on the surface.
