In December 2021, the I2MC Cytometry facility (TRI-Genotoul) will welcome a new Aurora CS spectral cell analyser/sorter from Cytek. This new equipment, open to the academic and private scientific community of Toulouse, combines the multiparametric analysis capabilities of conventional cytometry while eliminating the need for compensation and enabling in-depth phenotyping of cell populations within organs of interest.
Furthermore, autofluorescence measurement makes it possible to obtain, thanks to its deconvolution algorithm and without additional labelling, a unique spectral signature for each cell type, characterising its metabolic, inflammatory or cell cycle properties.
This unbiased multi-parameter approach, coupled with targeted analyses or other «omic» approaches, will make it possible to complete the mapping at the cellular level. This equipment has been acquired by the I2MC thanks to European REACT-EU funding, via the OCCSIGEN project, in order to advance research into the understanding of human health, and the diagnosis and monitoring of cardiometabolic pathologies.
