The pharmaceutical company Roche and the Institute of Pharmacology and Structural Biology (IPBS) share the objective of developing strategies to combat cancer. Whilst Roche is a major player in the development of immunotherapy strategies, IPBS's research work aims to identify and characterise new therapeutic targets in the field of cancer, using in particular the imaging resources of the TRI-Genotoul platform.
« This partnership is a unique opportunity for our institute to take a direct part in the development of new and promising cancer treatments »said Jean-Philippe Girard, Director of the IPBS.« Imaging technologies are currently revolutionising the way we explore the mechanisms involved in diseases », remarks Antonio Peixoto, Scientific Manager of the TRI-Genotoul imaging platform at IPBS. « Within this partnership, he continues, we will develop unique imaging strategies to dissect the mechanisms of action and evaluate the efficacy of new anti-cancer immunotherapies ».
