INRAe Microscopists Network (JSTRI)

6th JSTINRAe6th Scientific and Technical Days

This event, intended for the «microscopists» of INRAe and taking place over three days, is already fully booked.

Below is the words of the director of TRI-Genotoul, Alain Jauneau, who will preside over this event.

The 6th Scientific and Technical Days of the Network of Microscopists The INRAe conference will take place in Toulouse from November 25 to 27, 2015, within the Federation of Research, ‘Agrobiosciences, Interaction, Biodiversity on the INRAe site in Auzeville.

They constitute a privileged moment for meeting and exchanging between the various actors in the field of microscopy and imaging. The field is rich, with a wide variety of approaches and numerous associated technologies and know-how. The scope of application is immense. It covers the entire animal and plant world, from microorganisms to humans, as well as all the processes that govern life in normal or pathological situations. The title of these days, «Imaging the Living: From Molecular Dialogue to Field,» is a reflection of this complexity, and the proposed program constitutes a choice among multiple possible options, with the guiding thread being the decisive contribution of imaging methods to the understanding of biological phenomena.

These Days should be seen as an opportunity for exchange and enrichment. In this context, time has been allocated for speeches during each session, periods of discussion and communication with the various stakeholders. A half-day is dedicated to practical workshops distributed over the Cellular imaging platform from Toulouse. Designed in small groups and led by the specialists in the selected technologies, these workshops will be presented in a plenary session.

In the same spirit, spaces are reserved for our main partners, suppliers, and equipment manufacturers. We thank them for their support and interest in our issues. It is essential to take advantage of their knowledge and the new technologies offered: the enrichment is mutual.

These days cannot take place without the support of local and national institutional partners. We would like to thank them for their loyal support.

The members of the Local Organizing Committee and the Steering Committee of the Network wish you a pleasant stay and to fully enjoy these Days.

Alain JAUNEAU
