The I2MC photonics imaging platform is expanding its expertise to include histology

Phi PlateauStarted in autumn 2022 as part of a merger, the I2MC photonic imaging TRI platform is now expanding its expertise to include histology. This new restructuring also comes with a new name: the «Histology and Imaging Platform» (P.H.I.) and will help support users throughout their project, from sample preparation (sections, staining) to image acquisition and analysis, via bespoke services as well as training to use the equipment independently.

The P.H.I. plateau is now:

  • Equipment available in the histology facility: 2 NX50 cryostats, 2 microtomes, 1 cytospin, 1 Leica XL autostainer, 1 Leica embedding station, and soon a Logos One tissue processor.
    • Operational Manager of the Histology Department: Christèle Ségura.
  • The microscopes and computers of the imaging facility: Cell Observer widefield microscope, LSM780 confocal microscope, LSM900 confocal microscope, Elyra PS.1 super-resolution microscope, 2 analysis computers (one dedicated to deep learning, the other with an Imaris licence).
    • Operational Manager for the Imaging Department: Rémy Flores-Flores.
