To mark the joining of TRI-Genotoul to the France Bioimaging (FBI) network, the network's annual meeting will take place on 13 and 14 December at the Centre for Integrative Biology of Université Toulouse 3 – Paul Sabatier. This gathering will be an opportunity to review achievements and developments in the field of bioimaging in the presence of members of the FBI community. This year, the focus is on «multi-scale mechanobiology of cells and cellular systems», a subject specially selected as it is one of the areas of expertise of the Toulouse node.
Mechanobiology aims to apply biophysical approaches to measure and disrupt forces in complex physiological systems, and to develop in vitro systems including various types of organoids, enabling the controlled manipulation of cells and tissues and the measurement of mechanical forces to study cellular mechanics and morphogenesis.
This theme of «mechanobiology» includes
- the way cells generate and transmit forces,
- the impact of forces on cell/tissue dynamics,
- the impact of extrinsic forces on cells and tissues,
- the development of new tools to manipulate and measure forces in cells and tissues in a controlled and non-invasive manner.
