BRUKER 2P+: a new large-field-of-view two-photon microscope

The Infinity imaging platform (formerly CPTP) has acquired, thanks to support granted by the region as part of the «Octopus» project, a multi-photon confocal microscope enabling rapid acquisitions over a wide field of view: the BRUKER 2P+.

This motorised upright stand microscope enables multi-colour cellular and tissue observation, thanks to 4 non-descanned detectors (NDDs) allowing better light sensitivity. A Chameleon Discovery femtosecond pulsed laser, tunable between 680 and 1340 nm, makes it possible to excite a wide spectrum of fluorochromes and conduct observations in non-linear optics (SHG, THG). It is thus possible to detect cellular components such as collagen or lipids without prior labelling of the sample, resulting in a valuable time-saving during sample preparation.

This instrument, available to the entire scientific community, will make it possible to lift numerous technological barriers.
