This two-day training course (three days including logistical arrangements) will take place at the Cap\u2019D\u00e9couverte site (near Albi) to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements. Divided into plenary sessions, a poster session and workshops, this training course will present the various techniques of correlative microscopy, covering both methods and instruments. Topics covered will include conventional optical and fluorescence microscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, NanoSIMS, Fluo-RX and synchrotron imaging. Registration closes on 15 April.\nFunctional imaging using photonic microscopy has taken on a prominent role in biology; it enables both the localisation and measurement of the dynamics of molecules of interest within cells, tissues or living organisms, particularly in developmental biology. It is therefore a form of microscopy that allows work to be carried out in vivo, but lacks the resolution to directly explore the entire cellular ultrastructure.\nElectron microscopy, on the other hand, offers sub-nanometre resolution and a multidimensional scale, providing contextual information not available through optical microscopy. It is currently undergoing significant methodological development, particularly through techniques for specimen preparation, sample preservation and the development of electron microscopes\u2014in particular, significant advances in digital cameras, notably those with direct electron detection, which provide significantly higher resolution in cryo-EM, where samples are not chemically contrasted.\nThe need for precise results in cellular morphology or immunocytology at the sub-nanometre scale is growing considerably in research. More than ever before, most microscopists must take this aspect into account and find appropriate solutions.\nWith advances in cryo systems, 3D technology and image analysis software, new microscopy techniques are emerging. Added to this is the significant development of super-resolution techniques in photonic microscopy, which must be integrated into correlative microscopy approaches in order to reduce the resolution gap between photonic and electron microscopy. These developments pose new challenges in terms of both sample preparation and image alignment and registration.\nDuring this course, several approaches to correlative methods aimed at generating multi-scale imaging of living systems will be discussed, involving a range of technologies including electron microscopy and photonic microscopy, as well as AFM, X-ray fluorescence, cellular and tissue TomoX, IR spectromicroscopy and Nano SIMS.\nInformation and registration \n     View the provisional programme (pdf)\n     Practical arrangements (pdf)\n     Registration form to be returned by 15 April","offers":{"@type":"Offer"}},{"@type":"ImageObject","inLanguage":"en-GB","@id":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/techniques-microscopie-correlative-anf\/#primaryimage","url":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/miniatureANF-1.jpg","contentUrl":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/miniatureANF-1.jpg","width":952,"height":655,"caption":"20\u00e9me journ\u00e9es RIME"},{"@type":"BreadcrumbList","@id":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/techniques-microscopie-correlative-anf\/#breadcrumb","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"Accueil","item":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"name":"Formation aux nouvelles techniques de microscopie corr\u00e9lative (ANF)"}]},{"@type":"WebSite","@id":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/#website","url":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/","name":"TRI-Genotoul","description":"Imaging, cytometry & data analysis for the life sciences","publisher":{"@id":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/#organization"},"potentialAction":[{"@type":"SearchAction","target":{"@type":"EntryPoint","urlTemplate":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/?s={search_term_string}"},"query-input":{"@type":"PropertyValueSpecification","valueRequired":true,"valueName":"search_term_string"}}],"inLanguage":"en-GB"},{"@type":"Organization","@id":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/#organization","name":"TRI-Genotoul","url":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/","logo":{"@type":"ImageObject","inLanguage":"en-GB","@id":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/#\/schema\/logo\/image\/","url":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/ImagerieTRI_logo-Q3-1.png","contentUrl":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/ImagerieTRI_logo-Q3-1.png","width":1000,"height":273,"caption":"TRI-Genotoul"},"image":{"@id":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/#\/schema\/logo\/image\/"}},{"@type":"Person","@id":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/#\/schema\/person\/71018a7e00cf92ab28949e5339a08591","name":"gesteve","image":{"@type":"ImageObject","inLanguage":"en-GB","@id":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/3ff90361fbad07b87db6e94afed78c806805bda9f3278f580caffd3dfd7e27e9?s=96&d=mm&r=g","url":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/3ff90361fbad07b87db6e94afed78c806805bda9f3278f580caffd3dfd7e27e9?s=96&d=mm&r=g","contentUrl":"https:\/\/secure.gravatar.com\/avatar\/3ff90361fbad07b87db6e94afed78c806805bda9f3278f580caffd3dfd7e27e9?s=96&d=mm&r=g","caption":"gesteve"},"sameAs":["https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/newsite"],"url":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/author\/gesteve\/"}]}},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6639","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=6639"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/6639\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/6643"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=6639"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=6639"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/trigenotoul.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=6639"}],"curies":[{"name":"well played","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
