This is why we have launched a programme of national symposia to bring together scientists working in specific research areas. After a successful start with the microscopy of plant and marine models, we would like to continue this initiative with yeast, a powerful experimental model that is subject to a number of particular constraints for microscopy. This makes imaging yeast cells challenging, and a better understanding of these issues will allow the community to select the optimal approaches, techniques, and equipment for their applications. Our aim is to promote exchanges between researchers and industry, as well as to provide an opportunity for directly testing a variety of systems and evaluating their capabilities.
