In contrast, the molecules from which they originate, primary transcripts\u2014apart from constituting an intermediate stage in the production of these microRNAs\u2014have always been deemed devoid of any function. By revealing the role of these transcripts, a team from LRSV (UT3 \/ CNRS) behind this discovery has not only overturned a dogma that has resisted for over 20 years, but has also revealed unsuspected applications... which have already been the subject of several patents.<\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The TRI-Genotoul network contributed to this discovery, both through its expertise and its available equipment.
